Am I Too Old For Braces?

August 27, 2020|

Typically, braces are often thought of as something for teenagers, but this is simply not the case! There is no age limit for orthodontic care. If you are an adult and you’re unhappy with your smile, contact Utah Orthodontic Care to discuss your options. Our team of skilled orthodontists provide comprehensive care with affordable orthodontic payment plans. We offer a number of orthodontic options including more discrete and less noticeable braces that are perfect for adults.

Discrete Orthodontic Care & Adult Braces

Today, Utah Orthodontic Care offers a number of different types of braces to fit your individual orthodontic needs. Our orthodontists normally recommend our clear braces or Invisalign for our adult patients. Both of these options are effective, yet are less noticeable on your teeth.

Clear braces are made from a ceramic material that blends in with the color of your teeth and do not require colored rubber bands. Additionally, the high-tech orthodontic wires that are used with clear braces do not need to be tightened as frequently as traditional braces, making them one of the easiest and most comfortable orthodontic options for adults.

Invisalign is another great option for adult braces. Invisalign consists of clear plastic aligners that are changed every two weeks to slowly move your teeth to the correct position. These aligners are convenient for most adults because they can be removed to eat, drink, brush and floss.

Both clear braces and Invisalign are adequate options for adult braces. Discuss which option you prefer with our orthodontists today!

Length of Adult Braces

Depending on your specific orthodontic needs, you may need adult braces or Invisalign for a longer amount of time or a short amount of time. This will depend on your teeth and alignment prior to orthodontic care. Typically, adult braces are needed for 16 to 24 months. Initially, this may seem like a long time, but once your treatment is complete, you’ll be so proud to show off your new smile!
