Don’t Let Finances Get in the Way of Starting Orthodontic Evaluations

September 15, 2022|

At Utah Orthodontic Care, we provide top-quality orthodontic treatment to patients of all ages in the Salt Lake City area. Our highly trained team will work with you to create an individualized treatment plan based on your unique needs.

Benefits of Early Treatment

While many people believe that orthodontics are only for teenagers, early treatment is a great option for many children. Because most children have developed their first set of adult molars by the age of seven, the American Association of Orthodontics (AAO) recommends an orthodontic consultation by that age. You’ll also want to bring your child in if they suffer from any of the following problems: mouth breathing, misaligned teeth, thumb sucking, jaw issues, crowding of teeth, or bite problems.

The value of early intervention lies in the fact that baby teeth move more easily than permanent ones. Your child may not need affordable braces when they are older if this is done early enough.

Monitoring the Development of Teeth

Orthodontic observations at an early age can help your orthodontist determine when your child’s teeth are ready for treatment and how they are growing. Most of the time, it’s better to wait until all the permanent teeth have formed. As a result, the orthodontist can develop a plan that will be less time-consuming and costly in the long run.

Even though your child’s teeth appear straight, orthodontists can often spot signs of problems with the way teeth are growing and developing, and early treatment may be necessary to prevent problems from developing. If we detect crowding teeth, we can use affordable braces, spacers, or expanders to provide the space necessary for permanent teeth to grow.

Affordable Orthodontic Care

Do not let finances prevent you from receiving an orthodontic evaluation. You can spread the cost of treatment over several months or even years with our in-house, no credit check payment plans. Some costs can also be covered by flexible spending accounts (FSAs) or health savings accounts (HSAs). Your dental insurance, too, may cover at least a portion of the cost.
