¿Qué es un retenedor?
Los retenedores son una parte vital del tratamiento de ortodoncia que viene después de los aparatos o Invisalign. Sin un retenedor, ¡sus dientes simplemente migrarían a sus posiciones antiguas! Un retenedor brinda a los huesos, ligamentos y tejidos que sostienen los dientes la oportunidad de adaptarse a las nuevas posiciones, permitiendo que su nueva sonrisa se ‘asiente’.
Le proporcionaremos instrucciones detalladas cuando le entreguemos el retenedor por primera vez, pero generalmente usará su retenedor a tiempo completo al principio. Esto puede continuar durante algunas semanas o meses, después de lo cual cambiará a usarlo solo por la noche. Eventualmente, podrá usar su retenedor solo unas pocas noches a la semana.
Cuidado de su retenedor
Mantener su retenedor limpio con una adecuada higiene bucal es importante. Deberá cepillar su retenedor cada vez que se lo quite. Recomendamos remojarlo periódicamente con una pastilla limpiadora de dentaduras para proporcionar una limpieza más profunda. Es crucial utilizar siempre el estuche de almacenamiento que le proporcionamos, cada vez que no esté usando los retenedores. De lo contrario, es demasiado fácil desecharlo accidentalmente o perderlo, lo que podría significar reemplazos costosos.
